Do you have preferred hotel brands on Hotel Gurus?
We work with all of the major hotel chains as well as boutique / independent hotels. The hotels we select to source for each RFP depend on the specific market and availability. For instance, in some areas, there is a large brand presence while in others, the independent hotels are the best options. In general, our clients tend to gravitate toward Hilton, Marriott, IHG and Hyatt properties.
Can planners use Hotel Gurus for corporate events?
Absolutely! We can support any type of event – social, corporate, sports teams, meetings, incentives. Basically, if a client needs 10+ rooms, we can take care of it.
Are you able to book hotel meeting spaces and spa services through Hotel Gurus?
We can help book the meeting/event space in addition to guest rooms. For any other services, the planner or client would discuss these items directly with the hotels.
Do planners/clients/guests still earn reward program points when booking through Hotel Gurus?
Guests receive points for their stays just like any other reservation. For planners, no. Several brands offer planner program points and these are credited to Hotel Gurus. We consider the points part of our compensation for offering the service for free.
Do the cancellation policies of the hotel change using Hotel Gurus?
Not at all. All of the policies are hotel policies.
Does Hotel Gurus offer travel insurance? If so, is that commissioned on?
No, Hotel Gurus does not offer travel insurance.
How does the payment schedule work for commission (payment method, intervals of commission payments)
Payment typically takes approx. 2-3 months after the block to receive.
Once the block concludes the process is:
- Hotel Gurus invoices the hotel for the commission
- Hotel Gurus receives commission, updates portal with commission amount, at which point you will see them as a conversion
- Planner paid by ACH or Venmo, whatever method you selected during sign-up. We process commissions weekly.
How do we see the referrals (is there a dashboard?)
You will see all of the leads that have signed a contract in your affiliate dashboard. The link and user information is sent in the program welcome email. You won’t see commissions or dollar figures until after the event because we won’t know how much the commission is until that point but you can track the progress from the dashboard.
